| DENDROBIUM Species | |||||||||||||||||||||||||
| Dendrobium species represent one of the biggest genera of all orchids. They are distributed throughout Asia where they grow as epiphytes, attaching themselves to trees. Unlike their hybrid cousins (see dendrobium hybrids) the species are slow to mature and are demanding to grow. These species are not suited to beginners or to indoor (windowsill) growing. However, for established orchid growers and collectors they offer a wealth of forms and colours and their more difficult culture is amply rewarded. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||
